About Walrus Audio
Walrus Audio was founded in 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, growing out of a group of musicians, circuit designers, and artists who started by hand-modifying and mixing circuits until they landed on something distinctive. Company president Colt Westbrook, who joined in 2014, has described the design process as "somewhat experimental, somewhat intentional, and occasionally accidental" rather than chasing a single idea of perfection. The lineup has grown from three original pedals, the Voyager Overdrive, Iron Horse Distortion, and Deep Six Compressor, into a catalog spanning more than a dozen effects across drive, modulation, delay, and reverb, plus pedalboard tools like power supplies and true-bypass loop switchers.
Walrus Audio's reverb and ambient pedals are what built its reputation: Premier Guitar and Guitar World have both reviewed the Mako Series R1 and the Slö/Slötvå line favorably, praising their ability to move past standard spring, plate, and hall emulations into more expansive, modulated territory.
