About TC Electronic
TC Electronic was founded in 1976 by brothers Kim and John Rishøj in Risskov, a district of Aarhus, Denmark. The pair set out to solve a specific engineering problem in the guitar pedals of the era, unwanted signal noise, and their earliest products, a stereo chorus, flanger, and pitch modulator sold together as the SCF, established that focus on studio-quality sound in a stompbox. The company's reputation grew further in the mid-1980s with the TC-2290, a 19-inch rack delay that became a fixture in touring rigs and recording studios. TC Electronic became part of TC Group in 2002, and in 2015 TC Group was acquired by Music Group, the company chaired by Uli Behringer that rebranded as Music Tribe in 2017 and today also owns Behringer, Midas, and Klark Teknik.
TC Electronic's pedal range spans reverb, delay, looper, and tuner formats, with two innovations running through the modern catalog. Its TonePrint technology, built into pedals like the Hall of Fame reverb, lets players load custom effect settings, including presets built by touring artists, onto the pedal over USB or a phone app. On the tuning side, TC Electronic released the original PolyTune in 2010, the first polyphonic tuner pedal to let a player strum all six strings at once and read every string's pitch on a single display; it went on to become the best-selling polyphonic tuner on the market.
