About VTech
VTech Kids is the children's learning-toy side of VTech, and its own site says the company has been developing educational toys for children from birth to preteen since 1976. The product pages are organized by age, and the catalog runs from baby and toddler toys through to products for older kids, with an emphasis on electronic learning toys.
Two of its musical products appear in our kids' drum coverage. The KidiBeats Drum Set is a first musical toy for ages 2 to 5, with light-up drum pads and a cymbal and a set of play modes that tie drumming to letters and numbers. The Kidi Star Drum Pad is made for ages 5 and up and adds Bluetooth play-along, record and replay, and a Coach mode.

Why we recognized VTech
The House of Octave Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose gear consistently stands out in our player-tested category guides. VTech earned it on the strength of the products below, judged the same way every product on this site is: assessed on build, tone, and playability, weighed against what players actually report over years of use, and ranked on merit.
VTech gear we rated highly
