About Gammon Percussion
Gammon Percussion is a drum brand whose Gammon Drums storefront lists complete acoustic drum sets. The range runs from a 3-piece junior kit and a 5-piece junior kit to a full-size 5-piece adult kit, plus a Roto Tom set with 6, 8 and 10-inch toms on a double-braced stand. Most of the sets are listed in several colour finishes.
What the three Gammon kits in our reviews have in common is that they ship as complete sets. Each includes a padded throne, a pedal and sticks, and the larger kits add the stands and cymbals as well, so a new player does not have to shop for hardware before the first lesson. The adult kit is built on poplar shells with triple-flanged hoops, while the two junior kits are listed with solid wood shells.

Why we recognized Gammon Percussion
The House of Octave Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose gear consistently stands out in our player-tested category guides. Gammon Percussion earned it on the strength of the products below, judged the same way every product on this site is: assessed on build, tone, and playability, weighed against what players actually report over years of use, and ranked on merit.
Gammon Percussion gear we rated highly
Gammon Percussion 5-Piece Junior Drum Set
One of our top picks for kids drum sets. It has the full five-piece layout of a 16-inch bass drum, snare, two mounted toms and a floor tom, so a child learns the geography of a real kit. The hi-hats sit on a hi-hat stand alongside a crash, and the snare stand, padded throne and sticks are in the box. The listing describes solid wood shells and a chain-driven pedal.
